Enrique Ramírez

More about Enrique Ramírez

Enrique Ramirez’s work could be described as poetic incursions towards the humanization of contemporary dystopias. While his film-installations and photography constantly deals with the politics of exodus and exile and the discontinuity of memory, for Ramirez this always means an arduous search into subjective imaginary. The vast landscapes that often appear in his works are conceived as geo-poetic spaces for imagination, territories open for vision and deambulation.

Born in 1979 in Santiago, Chile, Enrique Ramirez completed his Master’s degree in Contemporary art and New Media in Studio National of art contemporain Le Fresnoy, France. Cruzar un Muro has been shown at the Loop Fair in Chile (2015); Brisas, Fuso Festival in Lisbon, Portugal (2014); and Oslo Screen Festival (2014). He is currently represented by Michel Rein Gallery (France and Belgium) and Die ecke Gallery in Chile.
